Then my grandpa came back down the staris with three big bags in one hand and a small black box in the other. HE handed the box and one of three bags to me then the other bags to Joshua. When I opened the box it was a key in it. I started jumping up and down because I just knew it was a new car!
"Come with me" papi said walking toward the back door.
When I got to the door all I could say is OMG!
We stepped to the back and my mouth just couldn't seem to close I couldn't believe my eyes. I know Papi was getting old but I couldn't believe he'd spend his money on something like this.
"You like it?...Brooke?"
With a smile, "Yes! Yeas, I like it Papi."
"No you don't like it...I'll just take it back."
"Yes I do...it's just I cant..."
"You don't like it, I'll take it back," he said with the most upset face ever.
Cutting him off I said, " I just can think of the first place I will drive it!.."
Then, out comes Joshua and grandma. "Oh Brooke! Look what Papi got meeee!.... Wow Brooke, you got mad wheels," Joshuasaid while bursting into laughter, "You gone take me to the Grand Cannon this weekend?"
"Shut up Joshua!"
"Brooke be nice to your brother," Grandma shot back.
"Looks like you're set for when you get old Brooke."
Then suddenly my grandma and Papi burst into laughter. It was so loud I could swear that everyone in New York could hear them laughing. My grandpa had got me a...

"I'm just kidding geez Brooke. You know I had to get you"
"Oh, poor baby...You can drive my car until you go back home I'll just have Papi take me where ever I need to go."
These old people are always playing tricks on me. I don't know how I let them do it this time. I turned to look over at Amber and Levi who was standing next to each other by Papi trying to hold in their laughter.
"Bahahahaha!!!!" They both let it out. I was just waiting on the jokes and I just knew Levi's ol' snap happy ass caught a picture of my face.
Still laughing while walking back towards the den and giving my brother some kind of hand shake, Levi said, "The Grand Cannon! Joshua? That was a good one man!"
Amber just kept laughing super hard and I could tell it was hurting because she kept holding her sides and leaning over.
"Shut up you Snooki look alike!"
Completely stopping her laughing attack, "Who are you calling Snooki? Just because I'm short and Italian doesn't mean I look like Snooki bi...BROOKE!"
I loved that I knew how to push her buttons. She hates being called Snooki because her big brother used to call her that one Summer because she had gotten really tan. I began to laugh because Amber almost cursed in front of my grandparents yet again. She always does.
Everyone was laughing and maybe for different reasons, but it didn't matter. We were all happy and this felt normal. Like here, I had a normal life and a normal family. The sound of laughter was something I barely heard at my mom's house. To me laughter filling the rooms and bouncing off the walls turned an regular old house into a home.
Snapping me out of my thought process, Amber grabbed my shoulder and said, "Aye, when are we gonna go to my house so I can tell you everything?"
